WordPress has thousands of free themes to chose from and many other companies also produce premium themes that cost between $20 and $100.
Themes are just a visual overlay over the WordPress engine. They are also described as skins.
You can change the look of the themes by changing the images.
If you are just started, here are some basic free business themes to get you started:
- I recommend Suffusion - It is easily adaptable

Remember if your site is new, you will have no visitors anyway, so choose one and get started. You can change the theme later when you get a better idea of what you want and get some more experience.
If you are interested in a Premium theme have a look at www.premiumwp.com which has lists of premium themes from a whole range of premium theme providers. Just remember that premium themes have a lot of extra features that can be customised to get the look that you want, but that will also require a lot more work (new images etc).
Installing free themes
To install free themes from the wordpress site the easiest way is to install them directly from the admin page.
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Go to Appearance – Add New:
2. Select the Search tab and enter name of theme:
3. Click on the theme and then click install.
4. The theme will automatically download
5. Activating the theme:

- Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
- From the Available Themes section, click on the theme title (or theme screenshot) for the theme you wish to activate.
- A preview of the theme will be shown. To activate the theme click the Activate “Theme Name” link in the top right.
- Your selection should immediately become active.
Check you site to see what it looks like. Test the each page to see what it looks like.
